Ford C-MAX Energi Plug-in Hybrid drives 550 miles on one tank

Ford has just released new info on its latest eco friendly car, the C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid, and its stats are impressive enough to put ford’s first hybrid in the running against market leaders like the Toyota Prius.
Ford’s C-MAX Energi will not only be able to travel 550 miles on a single tank of fuel, but in electric-only mode the hybrid car will be able to travel 20 miles. Compared to the Prius’ electric only mode, the C-MAX Energi doubles its range. The Ford C-MAX Energi also edges out the Prius when it comes to miles per gallon, as Ford is promising the new hybrid will achieve 95 MPGe.
The C-MAX Energi will be available for ore-order soon in North America through Ford’s ford electric vehicle dealerships.
July 26 2012 Update: The Ford C-MAX Energi will cost $29,995 after a $3,750 federal tax credit.
