If you haven’t received the memo yet, CFL light bulbs aren’t all they’re cracked out to be, and Google apparently knows this too. If you haven’t received the memo yet, CFL light bulbs aren’t all they’re cracked out to be, and Google apparently knows this too. This Earth Day, Google is going to be distributing 25,000 Pharox LED light bulbs by Lemnis Lighting as gifts to members of their staff around the world. This particular type of light bulb only uses 5 watts and will last up to 34 years! Plus, they don’t contain any of the harmful chemicals that CFLs do. The massive gift is part of the “Going Green At Google“ initiative, and will help save energy around the office, and at home, around the world. It might not be a bad time to apply for a job at Google!
