Since 2001, Verizon has promoted its cell-phone and electronics recycling program, and more recently has switched gears to donating the recovered resources to HopeLine, a charitable organization. In similar fashion, and to promote environmental discussion at this year’s Democratic Convention in Denver, Verizon is offering green tips to all of its “green” delegates, and customers. For example, if you’re a Verizon customer, you can sign up for a “Green Bill” – that is, a monthly bill that’s sent to you electronically, therefore saving on paper usage. Also, their new VZ Navigator has options for pre-loaded directions and Gas Finders to help cut down on your driving time.
