GrassA new idea being used on many green homes and buildings is the implementation of earthy capabilities to the rooftops by planting grass and other plants that can benefit the people living or working inside. A “Green Roof” system can be implemented on any flat or slanted roof, and can be customized in many ways to fit your needs. The system is built to increase oxygen and create cleaner air, reduce heat and insulate the building to help reduce energy loss, and help extend the life of a typical roof while blocking noise pollution as well. Research by Green Space Roofing shows that a green roof could help reduce heat gains of a building by 95% and reduce heat loss by 26%. A pretty significant amount for a bit of grass and plants on the roof. For a quick explanation about what it takes to green your roof, watch the video after the cut.
